The Holiday season brings me a mixed feeling. It's a beautiful season filled with celebration and one of the occasions when families gather.
Both my parents have demised; my mother departed 12 years ago, one month before her 67th birthday, and my father passed four years ago, a few days before their wedding anniversary. So, seeing pictures being posted on social media about how families celebrate the holiday season makes my heart heavy.
Fortunately, my daughter and I started baking during the holiday season several years ago. At first, we baked to share cookies and cakes with their friends and teachers. Now, holiday baking has become our tradition, an activity that I always look forward to.
This year, we baked Orange Cranberry Cookies using Sugar Spunrun Recipe, Matcha Checkered Board Cookies from Teak & Thyme, Lemon Shortbread and of course Gingerbread Cookies.

Not sure if this is the showstopper but our gingerbread cookies showed a lot of improvement from last year. Jo even got creative making a snowman by using two round cookie cutters.
